TAO OF ALBA

wow

I'm not exactly a devout Catholic but I couldn't pass up the chance of asking for a rosary from Rome when the big boss left.

He brought me a rosary indeed, made of rose petals, and something more: he got Pope Benedict XVI to bless it himself.

So I just had to ask, "Sir, how did you get the Pope to bless the rosary?"

"Well, it was fairly easy. He was right beside me, so I asked him."

I'll cherish this rosary forever.

oh happy day

The three stooges of Senga... I mean, the three heads of the Armed Forces representing the Navy, the Air Force, and the Army will be attending our flagship course in the Institute.

That means the AIDE CAMPS* will be there!!

I am soooo excited! Which is shown by the conversation between me and my boss who just came back from a business trip:

JJ: "Top heavy ang ating run this month. The head of the navy, army, air force..."
me: "Oh my gosh! They have aides!"

Somehow when I said that it didn't sound very well.

*Aide camps are the security and personal assistants of generals and admirals who are usually recent graduates of the Philippine Military Academy.

qoutable qoutes

I picked up a few quotes from people that I can't seem to get out of my head.

"It's like someone took over your blog."

---Benette, after commenting on the sappy entries I've been posting lately. Yeesh! She's right!

"Wow I can't believe you're thinking about getting married!"

---Juls after I told her about blurry plans next year.

"It's okay to be corny sometimes. At least mararamdaman ko naman minsan ang pagiging babae mo."

---My guy. Yeah. The Army guy. Hahahaha. On one hand, I should be proud I'm not giving the impression I'm a female in distress. On the other hand...

"Pinoy ako pinoy..." (sung)

---My boss after finding out he left his office key in the car, which meant two interns, he, and I were locked in the office since the secretary with the extra key already left and locked the door.

cramps that men will never understand

I hate this day. I hate this day. I hate this day.

Hate it. Hate it. Hate it.

i've never been this close to anyone

"I can barely believe how much
in love I am... with you.

I have whole days that go by when
you're on my mind the entire time.
Without ever consciously bringing
you newar, you quietly appear in my
thoughts as my days begin, and
somewhere in my imagination, you
and I find special ways to spend
our time together...

I love sharing that closeness with you.
Even when you're not here, I feel like
I could just reach out and toch you
and trace the smile on your face.

When you are here, and we have the
blessing of being together, I want you
to be able to loove over at me and see
more love in my eyes than you imagined
anyone could experience. Ever.

I've never been this happy. There has
never been a time in my life when my
wishes all came true... until I discovered
the sweet and wonderful closeness
of you."

He didn't write this... hehe... because he was never really a writer. But I'm glad with the effort that he looked for this particular poem for me...

I'm really not letting this guy go.

I received news that a PMA Class 2003 Army 2nd Lieutenant got killed with two others in a landmine blast in Agusan Del Sur over the weekend.

It's not my honey, but next year he'll be down there fighting the NPA rebels...

"There are things out there that I want to discover, that one day this will all make sense... I am searching for the meaning of this cosmic existence that we're in. And probably when I find the answer, I'll go and look for the anti-thesis."
5 THINGS

1. I sing in the University Chorale of the University of Asia & the Pacific, and we swept four gold medals in Greece for our very first International Competition. I got to do my two absolute favorite things: singing and traveling.
2. Although I am an Alto Two, my range widens up to Soprano One when I am drunk. Think Charlotte Church's Flower Duet. (I think it has something to do with swallowing the diaper pin when I was a baby). Dancing barefoot in debut parties may also be expected.
3. I work in an non-government organization focused on private sector development. It involves sleepless nights in the office and the constant worry of displeasing a former Secretary of Finance. My other two bosses are harmless.
4. I like my men in uniform. The Military has always been a fascination of mine even before when I was finishing a BA degree in Political Economy.
5. I no longer watch The Bold and the Beautiful much to the joy of friends and family.
